Upgrade your first aid kit with this healing salve, "Nature's Neo", crafted from herbs with antimicrobial, cellular repair, and wound healing properties for skin irritations like cuts, scrapes, diaper rash, and bites.
You will need:
Olive Oil or any other oil of your choice such as almond oil or jojoba oil
Calendula Flowers- Has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and soothing properties
Plantain Leaves- It is known as a drawing herb, perfect for bites and stings
Comfrey- Contains allantoin, a compound that promotes tissue regeneration
Oregano - Anti-microbial actions due to compounds like thymol and carvacrol
Yarrow- A styptic herb traditionally used to stop bleeding
Beeswax to create a thick barrier
Oil to dried herb ratio is 2:1
*Make sure the herbs are dried to prevent any spoilage.
Step 1: Infuse the oil with the dried flowers and herbs. To do this, use a cold extraction method by combining them in a jar and allowing it to sit for 1-2 months, shaking it every few days.
Step 2: Strain the oil from the herbs. In a double boiler, mix the infused oil with the beeswax until the wax is completely melted.
Step 3: Pour the mixture in to small jars/cans and allow it to solidify.
